What educators are saying

My TK and K students loved using this resource! They had a great time reading words with the magic e.
I loved using this packet to teach my students about super e. The activities helped the student understand the concept of super e.

Description

Teaching CVCe word patterns to your kindergarteners and first graders can be tricky (CVCe = Consonant Vowel Consonant e). Some teachers refer to these CVCe word patterns as silent e, super e, magic e, tricky e, or bossy e. This packet is all about teaching CVCe words in a really fun and engaging way with SUPER E -- and your students will LOVE him! SUPER E is a darling superhero character who gives vowels the power to say their long vowel sound, while he stays silent at the end of the words.

This Packet Includes:

  • CVCe posters (color, b&w, and draw-your-own) - These are perfect for introducing the CVCe word patterns and includes the SUPER E Character on them.
  • Original CVCe story with SUPER E as the main character (in color and b&w) with an accompanying worksheet - The adorable letter characters in this story help SUPER E explain how CVC words can turn into CVCe words and how to read and spell them correctly.
  • Student Booklet about SUPER E - This is an interactive version of the original CVCe story read in class (the one described above). Students will finish the book and take it home to share the SUPER E story with their families.
  • CVCe Activity with SUPER E Wands - Each student will make a SUPER E wand and take turns transforming CVC words to CVCe words.
  • SUPER E Craft (pictured above) with Worksheet
  • CVCe 3-in-a-Row Game
  • CVCe and CVC Word Hunt - Students will search around the classroom for CVCe and CVC words, record them on their worksheets in the right category.
  • CVCe Reading Passages
  • CVCe Whole Group Word Sort
  • CVCe Independent Word Sort
  • CVCe Reading Passages
  • At Home Reading Practice - Students will practice reading CVCe word lists and CVCe words in sentences
  • CVCe Bingo
  • Race to School Game
  • Practices Pages
  • CVCe Word Lists w/ Vowels A, I, O, & U
