Description

I'm a recently retired, award winning, HS Global Studies teacher, and currently I teach, part - time, in the Education Department of Salve Regina University, and in the Political Science Dept. at the University of Rhode Island. (See my profile.) If you polled my ex-students, and my current students, as to what they liked best about my classes, the most common response you would hear would be "the class discussions." It took me a while to get good at it, and now it seems like child's play, but it's not. Besides classroom management, the toughest challenge for new teachers is conducting effective, engaging class discussions. I know something about the challenge as I've been supervising student teachers for the past 5 years.

In this product, I have listed a bunch of strategies that have helped me through the years.

You might want to check out at least one of my power point products, so that you can see how I integrate discussion into the power points. Here are some of the more popular power points which you'll find on my TpT "store" - 21st Century Global Studies: ISIS, Islam - you'll be surprised, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Iran, Terrorism, Central American migration to the USA, Guatemala, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Honduras, Botswana, Somalia, Comparative Electoral systems, Syria, Democracy, Communism, North Korea, Bhutan, Finland and Model United Nations Simulations on Capital Punishment, Drug Trafficking, Climate Change and more!
