Description

STEM Go for EVA- Create a Spacewalking Mission in your Class

by Tiny Space Adventures

Re-create an EVA in your classroom!

Real-world NASA scenario.

In this lesson, students will complete a simulated spacewalk. This activity explores some of the difficulties and concerns of performing an EVA in space:

* The challenge of moving around within a limited space by introducing tethers, so that they do not float away.

* The difficulty of working within the confines of a space suit; more specifically, the gloves which reduce finger sensitivity in order to complete manual tasks.

* They must also work within time constraints due to limited oxygen available to an astronaut while conducting a spacewalk.
