    Description

Can you build a bridge with only a few supplies? Yes, you can! Push your tables close together to make a gap for a bridge. Students will get to work with simple materials and one goal. Build a bridge that will cross the gap and work!

Please note: This package contains three lessons. Each may be purchased separately. Just click on the titles!

    ➡️Bridges with Index Cards

Students build simple platform bridges using index cards as the only supply. The final platform must hold weight. It’s a simple task with endless creative ways to fold and manipulate the paper.

    ➡️Bridges with Marshmallows

Students build a bridge to span a gap and hold weights. The design is a little more difficult than the index card design bridge. The materials are more difficult to manipulate and students will need to connect two items to create the greatest strength. Recently added: This challenge now includes ten more pages of teacher directions with hints, lab sheets, constraints, and photos. And, rubrics for everything!

    ➡️Bridges with Straws

Students will build using the materials including paper clips, string, straws, and toothpicks. The designs will be more elaborate. Kids may be exploring creating joints and connecting the materials in unique ways. The final designs might even resemble real bridges! Recently added: This challenge now includes a second version for use. I added materials and prep, teacher directions, photos, and more for this new version.
