STEM Activities for the first day of school STEAM Challenges Getting to know you

Start off the year by reviewing STEM SKILLS. This STEM Activity will review the terms interests & talents. Students will get to know themselves by figuring out what their interests, talents & hobbies are. This is a great whole group lesson that is printable & digital.

When people hear the word “talent,” they often think of an artistic area of expression such as drawing or playing a musical instrument. We also refer to people as being talented athletes or talented in science. Most experts agree that talent refers to some natural ability based on an area of strength. There are also interests a child may have & enjoy doing.

In this lesson, students will fill in their "brain" with their talents, interests & hobbies. They will discuss how their own strengths will help during STEM challenges.
