    Description

    This STEM Activities Bundle includes six engaging and educational resources designed to spark curiosity, foster teamwork, and promote critical thinking in your students. Perfect for teachers, homeschoolers, or anyone looking to make learning fun and interactive.

    These activities can be used year round and are great for teaching hard to understand concepts, using with classroom transformations, or just for getting students excited about learning and working together!

    Back to School STEM Activities

    In this product you will find the following activities:

    • Balance the Apple: Students will work to create a tower of apples that can balance an apple on top.

    • Find Common Ground: This activity asks students to build a tower using index cards. The catch is that they have to write something that they have in common on the cards first!

    • Create a Name Chain: After counting the number of letters in each others’ first names, they must create a paperclip chain.

    • Design a Slide: Students will use the provided supplies to create a slide that an eraser top can slide down and roll no more than 6 inches.

    • Make a Mascot: In this challenge, students will create a classroom mascot out of school supplies, name it, and come up with a motto.

    • Move the Bus:  Using a the available supplies, students must create a vehicle that can be pulled at least 2 ft.

    Candy Corn STEM Activities

    In this product you will find the following activities:

    • Candy Corn Stacking: Students will work to stack candy corn so that they are able to hold a candy corn pumpkin without it falling down. 

    • Candy Corn Zip Line: This activity asks students to get a Dixie cup of 15 candy corn across a string “zip line” without touching it. 

    • Candy Corn Measurement: Candy corn are used as a non- standard measurement in this activity. Students will estimate and then measure classroom objects. 

    • Candy Corn Catapult: Students will use the provided supplies to create a catapult that will launch a piece of candy corn. 

    • Dissolving Candy Pumpkins: In this experiment, students will see if a candy corn pumpkin dissolves faster in cold water or hot water. 

    • Pumpkin Tower Challenge:  Using only pumpkins and toothpicks, students will work to create the highest tower in the allotted time.

    Winter STEM Activities

    In this product you will find the following activities:

    • Ice Cube Challenge: Students will work to pick up an ice cube with only a piece of string by using salt.

    • Tallest Snowman Challenge: This activity asks students to build the tallest snowman possible in the given time using marshmallows and toothpicks.

    • Snowball Launcher Challenge: After creating a launcher using a balloon and paper cup, students will compare the distance traveled of a cotton ball versus a marshmallow when launched.

    • Snowboarder Challenge: Students will use the provided supplies to create a snowboarder who will slide down a ramp. Then they will try to make their snowboarder faster by changing their design.

    • Snow Scoop Challenge: In this experiment, students will design a scoop that can clear the snow in the fastest time.

    • Build an Igloo Challenge:  Using only marshmallows and toothpicks, students will work to build an igloo that can stand on its own. 

    Camping STEM Activities

    In this product you will find the following activities:

    • Design a Tent: Students will work to create a tent using only the provided materials that will keep the “campers” (cotton balls) from getting wet.

    • Build a Bridge: This activity asks students to create a bridge that can hold the weight of a “camper” (a cup of 50 pennies). 

    • Design a Solar Oven: Using just a few supplies, students will make an oven and cook s’mores.

    • Go Fishing!: Students will use the provided supplies to create a magnetic fishing rod that can hold 5 “fish” (paperclips) at once.

    • Build a Boat: In this challenge, students will create a boat and see how much “treasure” (pennies) it can hold before it starts to sink.

    • Make a Constellation:  Using a constellation guide, students will attempt to recreate a constellation using only toothpicks and marshmallows.

    Spring STEM Activities

    In this product you will find the following activities:

    • Bird Nest Challenge: Students will work to build a nest that will balance on top of a tower of linking cubes and hold eggs.

    • Water the Flowers Challenge: This activity asks students to build a water transfer system to transfer water from one container to another in order to water the flowers. 

    • Egg Drop Challenge: In this challenge you will design and build a device that can protect an egg from breaking when dropped while standing on top of a chair.

    • Paper Airplane Challenge: Students will design two different airplanes and test them to see which one travels the farthest distance.

    • Sailboat  Challenge: In this activity, students will use the provided materials to create a boat that can move on the water using wind power.

    • Seed Launcher Challenge:  Students will work to create their own device that can launch “seeds”.

    Renewable and Nonrenewable Energy STEM Activities

    This product is part of the RENEWABLE AND NONRENEWABLE ENERGY RESOURCE BUNDLE. The bundle includes additional student activities, interactive notes and reading passages to teach your students the basic knowledge of the energy resources.
