SOLFEGE Foldable Mini Book *8-Page* Curwen/Kodály Hand Signs
This eight-page foldable mini-book for Solfege is a useful graphic organizer that helps students learn the Kodály/Curwen hand signs and syllables also known as Solfege or Solfa. Using these hand signs as a teaching tool for beginners is incredibly useful in all situations.
Providing students with a fun visual aid that can be personalized, colored in and folded into a book not only reinforces the concepts of the Solfege hand signs and syllables but also supports and engages learners with multiple modalities. Plus, it's fun, and a great way for kids to enhance their spatial reasoning skills and direction following! Don't be surprised if students ask for more copies so they can improve their Solfege books. Can be used for grades 1-12 (1st grade through 12th grade).

The COLOR versions are more attention-grabbing, but if one has to make large quantities of B&W copies, the grayscale versions look great as well and provide students with an opportunity to color and personalize their books.
As a band director, I'm a huge fan of using Solfege/Kodály/Curwen methods with my beginners because it makes teaching instruments in multiple keys a breeze! For example, instead of saying "C instruments play B-flat, B-flat instruments play C, E-flat instruments play G," I can easily give the band instructions using Solfege: “Band, play 'Do’." It makes it easy to improvise warm-ups, even in two parts by using both hands, and is a fantastic way of getting students to watch you!
