What educators are saying

My kids love drawing and it also helps calm them down when they need a break, Thank you for your creativity.
I used this as a quiet activity for my early finishers during state testing. The kids loved the different pop art drawings!

Description

Pop Art Calming Corner Coloring Pages—interactive and pattern-filled included + writing prompts. LOW PREP for teachers and tons of FUN for kids.

These coloring sheets are great for helping with any calming activities. Artistic activities such as sculpting, painting, drawing, or coloring lower stress levels and promote calmness. It’s been shown to help people, kids especially, deal with challenging emotions like anxiety. Art can also help young people grow in confidence and develop social skills.

These pages are designed especially with calming and social emotional learning in mind.

DIFFERENTIATION:

There are both interactive designs and pattern-filled coloring pages in this resource. The two types of pages are included to help with differentiation in your classroom or at home with your own students. Even adults will love coloring these pages!

Interactive Coloring:

Children spend a lot of thought and consideration when deciding where the patterns will go in each design. Students also have to color small details, which improves their fine motor skills, which help with many things—handwriting being one example. If your students were to make several of these (along with the writings), they would have a beautiful portfolio or bulletin board display.

This resource includes step-by-step instructions with photographs of how to use the interactive pages.

Pattern-Filled Coloring:

I have also created all the images with pattern-filled designs as well. This easily allows you room for flexibility with students that might otherwise struggle to add the patterns themselves—or to save time and add variety to your class. These will allow you to differentiate according to your student’s abilities and their needs.

This resource includes step-by-step instructions with photographs of how to use the pattern-filled pages.

Writing:

I have included 2 writing prompts with 2 different line types to select from—one for older children and one for younger. As an art educator, artist, and lover of all things “artsy,” I am a big proponent of “art for art’s sake.” My Pop Art interactive coloring sheets are designed to be used any time of year for the sake of making art! Great for art teachers, classroom teachers, homeschool parents, and more!

I am, however, an educator, so I understand how hard-pressed classroom teachers are for time. You might not feel like you can give up precious lesson time to let the kids “color.” To help make these art-themed activities more aligned with the common core standards, I have included writing pages in this lesson. As one happy teacher commented, “I love that I can incorporate artwork in CCSS using these student-designed pictures. These pictures lend themselves to being a springboard for the writing process - addressing Core Standards. Very innovative!! Thank you!

I have also included blank writing pages so you can give students any writing prompt you want.

I also have a set of Pop Art coloring sheets featuring mermaids and unicorns that your students might like, as well as a dinosaur set.

Coloring isn’t just for kids—adults love to color. Make sure you download your own set of FREE Pop Art Adult Coloring Sheets for Teachers.
