Description

Scoot is an amazing fast-paced game to help students review prior skills in an entertaining way. All you need are copies, desks, and pencils to be ready to play!

How do you play?

I like to arrange my desks in a square or circle before beginning. Place a task card on each desk that is being used, including "brain breaks" to give kiddos a break during the game. Provide each student an answer sheet and inform students which direction they will be scooting (left, right, clockwise, counter clockwise).

Students begin when you tell them to begin. After about a minute (less if you notice everyone has finished earlier) yell "SCOOT!" Students take their answer sheet with them to the next desk and continue until they return to their original desk. During a "brain break" you can choose what you want your students to do -- I usually have mine draw a picture or stand up and stretch.

It's that simple! The students don't even realize they're practicing skills while they're playing!!

What's in the Download?

Directions on how to play, including a graphical display!

4 Answer Sheets (1-21, 1-24, 1-27, 1-32). If you have fewer than 21 students, you can have students X out those boxes since they won't be used.

Sight words included in the game are:

But, had, by, any, over, then, for, when. may, know, her, an, of, open, some, thank, walk, as, from, live, them, put, again, how, stop, ran, did, into, want, me, look, yes.
