    Description

This rounding bundle is designed to teach students about rounding numbers in a way that will keep them engaged! It focuses on rounding numbers to the nearest ten, nearest hundred, and nearest thousand. Most of the activities use number line ninjas to introduce students to the number line method of rounding. Numbers either get kicked UP to the larger end of the number line, or numbers get kicked DOWN to the smaller end of the number line. Seeing the numbers placed on a number line really helps students conceptualize the process of rounding numbers. The activities in this math bundle make rounding fun and easy! Students love the activities, while teachers love the convenience of these no-prep resources that can be used year after year! These activities can be used for test prep, review, or introduction.

TWO posters: Rounding Up and Rounding Down (This item is in the bonus file.)

Teacher note: The second and third activities listed above are quite similar. One is a print ninja activity while the other is a digital ninja activity, but the tasks required to complete each activity are similar. Personally, I would choose to do just one of these activities with my students. That being said, I used different numbers in the activities, so you certainly CAN use both activities if you wish!

I recommend starting with the highly interactive PowerPoint. There are four main sections in this PowerPoint:

    1. Introduction and Rounding to the Nearest Ten (It starts with 2-digit numbers, and then progresses to 3-digit and then 4-digit numbers.)

    2. Rounding to the Nearest Hundred (It starts with 3-digit numbers, and then progresses to 4-digit numbers.)

    3. Rounding to the Nearest Thousand (It starts with 4-digit numbers, and then progresses to 5-digit numbers.)

    4. Putting it all together!

Here's what teachers like you have to say about using these rounding activities with their students:
