Rhythm Taco Stand - Notes & Rests - Smart Board CINCO DE MAYO GAME

“Rhythm Taco Stand” is my new taco-themed note value game with fun sound effects! It is an interactive, Smart Notebook game that assesses student learning about rhythm basics while keeping them engaged in learning.

This game assesses all students’ understanding of the following note values:
- quarter note,
- dotted quarter note,
- half note,
- dotted half note,
- whole note,
- dotted whole note,
- eighth note (and paired eighths),
- sixteenth note (and 4 sixteenths),
- eighth rest,
- quarter rest,
- half rest, and
- whole rest.

Included is a page of all rhythms to review before game. NEW: Now including printable versions of Rhythm Currency Page in the attachments section of the Smart Notebook file.

Description of game:
1. Divide class into teams of 3-5 students. Each team gets a white board. (You can also do individual teams with everyone getting a white board.)

2. Each team gets to order something off the menu. Click on the menu item to order it. (If you want to easily keep up with progress with multiple classes, order from the menu in the order listed.

3. Each team draws the note or rest that matches the "Rhythm Currency" needed to buy the food. Click on the correct currency.

4. After the menu item is correctly purchased, go back to menu page and cover item with the "Sold Out" sticker.

5. Enjoy the fun sound effects as you go! The happy Mexican music and the "yeehaw!" signify a correct answer. The correct answer also spins.
