Rhythm Reading To The Oldies II

Here are 5 more Rhythm Reading PowerPoints included in a Zip file. No music is included! You must purchase that yourself. (Copyright!) I use the original recordings by the artists purchased from iTunes.

What IS included is 4 beat rhythm patterns with clapping, movement and body percussion suggestions! These are actual presentations I use in my classroom. We love them! Some include numbers for counting. Please feel free to add or change the numbers to fit the way you count rhythms in your classrooms or eliminate the counts all together.

There are 5 separate PP presentations.
They were designed for the following songs:
1 - Hooked On A Feeling by Blue Swede
2 - I Got You by James Brown
3 - Java by Al Hirt
4 - My Girl performed by the Temptations
5 - I'm A Soul Man by Isaac Hayes and David Porter

Each PowerPoint has a number in the upper or lower right hand corners of the slide. When I use these presentations, I import the music and record it so that it plays automatically. You are welcome to do that or use the numbers provided. The number is for the sets of 4 beats or a variation which I hope I made clear!

These PowerPoints were made in Apple’s Keynote program and exported as PowerPoints. Please feel free to adjust the presentations to meet your needs. You can add lots more bells and whistles! I suggest purchasing the song and importing into it PowerPoint. If you don’t know how to do that, click on the “Help” tab in the Tool Bar. You can then record the presentations by going to “Slide Show” in the tool bar and then “Record Slide Show.”

If you would prefer to use Keynote, simply open Keynote and open these PP files. Keynote will open PP but PP will not open Keynote.

I hope you enjoy these rhythm reading presentations as much as my students and I do! We use them every day during the school year! Please feel free to make them easier or more difficult as you see fit!
