Rhythm Game

Use this game for the beginning of school. I like for students to have hands-on experiences on the first week of school. You can adapt this chart and concept to fit the equipment and set-up of your classroom.

Students march around the music rug, freezing when the music stops. Instrument players are chosen according to their position on the rug. Instruments and not values are chosen (hidden underneath the images at the bottom of chart). Students move to selected instrument and play the selected rhythm along with the music. Instrument groups could play all together, separately or layered.

The easier level has beat and rhythm as the choices.
