This ActivInspire flipchart is intended for use in creating ostinatos and other rhythm compositions as a class or small group (center) in second grade. Included are three pages: the first is one measure of 4/4 time, the second is two measures of 2/4 time, and the third is a measure of 3/4 time. A heart represents each beat, making it easy for students to drag & drop a beat. This flipchart uses standard notation, but is fully editable for you to customize with symbolic notation depending on the song you're composing an ostinato for (such as apples for "Apple Tree").
