Description
Teaching rhythm doesn’t have to be boring! This basketball tournament rhythm game on Google Slides is an interactive lesson to get your students engaged in reviewing rhythm. Students will read, identify, and match rhythms in this game. It's great any time of the year, but it is especially fun in March since the students are all excited about March Madness (and you need something to keep the kids engaged until Spring Break!).
To play, I suggest splitting the class into teams. This game includes 20 different questions that students can choose from to earn points. They are in 4 different categories to practice rhythms in different ways.
Rhythms included:
- Quarter notes + eighth notes
- Quarter rest
- Half note
- Sixteenth notes
- Dotted half note
- Dotted quarter note
- Dotted eighth sixteenth
- Single eighth + 2 sixteenth notes
- 2 sixteenth notes + single eighth
- Triplet
- Syncopa (eighth quarter eighth)
Includes:
- 5 rhythms to read
- 5 basketball themed word sorts
- 5 match the rhythms to the syllables (editable)
- 5 rhythm identification questions
- Everything in stick notation
