Revolutionary War Escape Room - Style Adventure

Take your students on an historical adventure as they collaborate to complete five tasks in an escape room-style experience! It's print and go - no locks or extra supplies needed to prepare for the activity.

The purpose of the activity is to teach students about life during the American Revolution - including life in the Continental Army, secret codes and spies, battlefield medicine, revolutionary women and weapons and tactics of war. The best part? Your students will be 100% engaged in digging through the content to decipher clues about the past.

The adventure begins when small groups of historians (your students) are tasked with completing research for a T.V. show director, Victoria Barnes. They'll read informational texts, solve puzzles and play games that integrate content and fun in a seamless way.

A brief writing activity at the end can be used to individually assess students' understanding of the content.

There are three files included in this download: a color version of the activity (22 pages), a black/white version of the activity (22 pages) and a Teacher Kit filled with information about each task and answer keys (12 pages)

    1. Five tasks that include informational text and puzzles for students to solve
