Description
A comprehensive hands-on learning activity for restriction endonucleases.
Students select from one of 57 different scenario cards then digest their DNA strand according to the provided instructions.
When finished, they self-check their results by counting the number of fragments produced and the number of base pairs per fragment.
Three scenarios allow differentiation between students and grade levels:
A (easiest), B, and C.
Student instruction card also posted on Easel for convenient online access.
Includes:
- Student Instruction Cards. (Reusable)
- 19 different Restriction Enzyme Cards. Blunt ends & sticky ends included. (Reusable)
- 57 Scenario Cards. Answers to all scenarios include number of fragments produced & number of base pairs per fragment. (Reusable)
- 1 page Student DNA Strand (197 base pairs total length). (Not reusable)
