Description
Restorative practice – encourages people to take responsibility for their actions, and repair any harm that they have caused. Its use has been found to reduce behavior problems, improve achievement levels, and develop emotional literacy. =These practices are also known to provide an increase in: instructional time, school safety/climate, and positive relationships/ attitudes between staff and students. Restorative Practices, emphasize the importance of positive relationships and "restoring" these relationships when "harm" has occurred. “Harm” to others, whether it is physical or verbal always needs to be repaired. Sometimes students do not have the words to use to go along with repairing harm.
