How to Use:

Sort:

I use this sort to introduce my students to different ways we can show respect. To start we will talk about the difference of respecting others, ourselves, and the environment. I then will let students work independently or with a partner to sort the examples into the right respect category. Students can cut and paste or simply write their answers in the correct category. Note: Encourage students to pick the respect category that would be the best fit, some options could work in multiple categories. After, we will review our answers as a class. What I love about this resource is that it gets the students thinking about different ways they can show respect while engaging them in the lesson!

Scenario Cards:

I use these scenario cards to start a discussion with my students about the different ways we can show respect. To start we will talk about the difference of respecting others, ourselves, and the environment. The prompts can be used whole class, with a partner, or in a small group. Students can share how they would respond to the scenario prompts. What I love about this resource is students gets students thinking about respect while working on their sharing/listening skills.

Reflection Worksheet:

I use this sort to reflect on the different ways we can show respect. To start we will talk about the difference of respecting others, ourselves, and the environment. I then will let students work independently on the template to draw what respect looks like to them, to list personal examples, to reflect on the week’s challenge, and to set goals. After, we will discuss and share our answers. What I love about this resource is that it gets the students thinking about different ways they can show respect while allowing them to set personal goals!
