Description

If your students are struggling writers on the PARCC, LEAP, Quarterly Benchmarks, and Weekly Assessments, this Lesson is for You!! Students are asked to write a Research Simulation Writing Task on PARCC, LEAP, other Standardized Tests and Benchmarks. I have created a RACER Strategy framework/manual template for my students to help them organize, include rhetorical appeals (Ethos, Logos, Pathos) and all the information the prompt is asking. The students will be able to include a Thesis statement along with their claim in the introduction, in the body this framework will help with including the author's claim, rhetorical appeals, evidence, explanation, and commentary, and finally the concluding paragraph of the essay. My framework has all of the elements of a Research Simulation Essay. My students have scored very high on Weekly Assessments, Quarterly Benchmarks, and End of Year Tests using this RACER Strategy Framework. The standards, criteria for mastery, exemplar model, and rubric are included in this Lesson!! Make sure you download my RACER Strategy Framework/Template for FREE that goes along with this lesson. Happy Teaching!!!
