Reproductive Health (Sex Ed, Sexual Education) Presentation and Review Sheets

This presentation is a fairly broad overview of reproductive health (sex ed, or sexual education) that focuses on presenting factual information on how the reproductive system works and what younger teens can expect from their bodies. Topics covered include the functions of male and female reproductive parts, how conception and pregnancy work, what STIs are (broadly without going in-depth into individual STIs), what contraception is, types of contraceptives and STI preventions, how to maintain one's health and hygiene after puberty (including dealing with periods, acne), consent and respect (required by some state laws to be included in sex education), common myths, and common questions.

There are no pictures of actual genitalia, though there are labeled diagrams as appropriate. The "Overview" file in the zipped folder has more information about how to review and change the presentation as is appropriate for your class or kids.

Additionally, this presentation is in accordance with many states' sex ed laws. For example, many states require emphasizing that abstinence is the only 100% effective mode of STI prevention and avoiding pregnancy - this is covered. Many states also require that consent and respect are taught during sex ed - also covered in detail with examples (non-sexual examples of what consent and respect entail).

This suite includes a presentation, an overview of contents with some suggestions and tips, as well as review sheets. This may be useful in a classroom or at home as a resource for teaching your own kids about the birds and the bees.
