What educators are saying

Love the design of the notes. Makes it easy to break up the parts of the Renaissance into separate days and then have an activity to reinforce those concepts.
One of my favorite things to use with my students - they responded really well to it and it aligned perfectly with my standards!

In sections 1 and 2, students understand the origins of the Renaissance, where the Renaissance originated, the birth of humanism, and the contributions of Petrarch.

In section 3, students are introduced to how art evolved during the Renaissance, including an analysis of several works of Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci. In section 4, students understand how literature changed (and spread) during the Renaissance. Here, students understand the impact of Johannes Gutenberg, the introduction of movable-type, the work of Sir Thomas More, William Shakespeare, and Erasmus.

Section 5 teaches students about the Scientific Revolution and the radical departure it was from Medieval thinking. Students are introduced to the work of Galileo, Copernicus, Sir Francis Bacon, Isaac Newton, and Kepler. In section 6, students are taught how religion was changing during the Renaissance and come to know the work of Martin Luther, his 95 Theses, King Henry VIII (and his six wives), and the impact of the Protestant Reformation.

Finally, in section 7, students understand how the Renaissance impacted the relationship between citizens and their government. Here, students learn about the Enlightenment and the contributions of John Locke, Machiavelli, Montesquieu, Rousseau, Voltaire, the social contract, and the influence of natural rights.

Enjoy the guided notes that are seamless to use and easy to integrate into each unit! Each page contains a "quick check" to assess student learning and give the class time to reinforce the major concept.

Enjoy!
