Reflection: allows students to journal about one of the movie's themes prior to watching.

Analysis: questions and prompts to analyze the movie's characters, plot, and climax.

Practice & Discussion: a partner/group activity that takes the principles of the movie and asks students to take action and grow in their own lives.

Extension: a RAFT (Role-Audience-Format-Topic) writing prompt to help students apply their new knowledge.

Lead for Impact: challenges students to pinpoint how the hero of the story exhibited The 12 Fundamentals of Impact and then synthesize how they can apply the lessons to writing their own story.

Movie Synopsis

Remember the Titans is based on the true story of the integration of the T.C. Williams High School football team in Alexandria, Virginia, in 1971.

The film follows the journey of Coach Herman Boone, a black coach hired to lead the team, and Coach Bill Yoast, a white coach who initially resents Boone's appointment but later becomes his assistant.

As the team faces racial tensions and discrimination both on and off the field, Boone and Yoast work together to unite their players and teach them the importance of teamwork, respect, and overcoming prejudice.

Through dedication, perseverance, and football, the team ultimately triumphs, becoming champions while leaving a lasting legacy of friendship and unity.
