Relationships in Poetry: A Web Quest of Love Songs and Love Poetry

This is a great web quest to do around Valentine's Day. For this Web Quest, students are asked to play the role of a Relationship Specialist for some friends with interesting relationship problems. For each friend scenario, they are given a problem and 3 poems or song lyrics. Using these poems/song lyrics, students must analyze the problem and the poetry, determine which poem/song lyric best fits the need of their friend, and then explain why they believe the poem they chose is best suited for the problem at hand. Students must also give a basic summary of what the poem is about. Therefore, for each scenario, students must analyze, summarize, determine, and argue their point. After the 3 scenarios are completed, students are asked to write their own poem/song lyrics, from the perspective of someone going through one of the problems described in the scenarios.
