What educators are saying

These study guides made teaching regional maps very easy. I was also able to turn this into a quick and easy map test.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this product!! I can't praise this bundle enough, it made my life easy in teaching the regions of the United States and their capitals too. The hints and clues made learning so easy for the students too!

Description

This is a 2-page study guide. It includes one page to help your students learn to label the West states on a map. Also includes a page to help learn the state capitals and the state abbreviations.

This is an activity that goes along with my resource, Regions of the United States: West, Complete Unit (5 Regions)"The West Region" is a 6-page packet that can be used as a "textbook chapter" when teaching about the five regions of the United States. In the Regions of the United States: West, Complete Unit (5 Regions), your students will learn about the land, water, climate, products, natural resources, landmarks, and culture of the West.

Because the United States can be divided into regions in many ways, please check to see if this version matches your standards. My materials marked “Five Regions” have the states divided this way:

Southeast: “Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia

Northeast: “Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont

Midwest: “Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Missouri, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Wisconsin

Southwest: “Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas

West: Alaska, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington, Wyoming

If this version doesn’t match what you need, check my other listings for materials marked Four Regions.

While these materials were written to correspond to Florida's Next Generation Sunshine State Standards Social Studies, these regions units are also perfect for 3rd, 4th, 5th, or 6th graders studying the five regions of the United States.
