Reflection Journal - Social-Emotional & Academics

Foster student self-reflection with these journal pages!

My grade uses these pages to start our ELA rotations on Mondays. Following each classroom's social circle, the students return to their desks and spend 10 minutes writing silently on these sheets (the included "sentence starter" board is reviewed as needed, about once every other week) and then use them to discuss with you, their families, or their peers about how things are going at school.

The journal pages are each designed to give students a guided structure while at the same time the opportunity to express themselves openly and honestly on a writing space that doesn't feel overwhelming!

Once they're done, you can have your students:

• Turn them in to you (for you to write personalized notes on!)
• Present it to the person they've identified as being the intended audience
• Share it with their family at home
• Add it to their social-emotional growth folders
