What educators are saying

Great resource for my 2nd grade class. This resource helped my students be more engaged in this lesson.
Loved this resource when working on my fairytales unit! Helped with comprehension for both stories! My favorite is that both stories are included in one resource!

Description

Working on comparing and recounting folktales from diverse cultures? This book study resource was created for use with Lon Po Po a Red Riding Hood Story from China by Ed Young and Red Riding Hood.

Here’s what you’ll find inside:

• vocabulary reference sheet for Lon Po Po with visual supports

• comprehension strip sets for Red Riding Hood and Lon Po Po with differentiated recording sheet options (12 questions per story)

• story map graphic organizers

• summary writing graphic organizers

• character analysis graphic organizers and writing prompts

• variety of narrative, expository, and opinion writing prompts

• 3 themed parts of speech task card sets

(In my own classroom, I use James Marshall’s version of Red Riding Hood, but any traditional retelling should work well with the included activities.)

UPDATE: Now includes pre-made TPT Easel options for comprehension strips, character trait maps, writing prompts, graphic organizers, and task card recording sheets.
