Recorder Assessments Pack: Elementary General Music

Thanks for your interest in my product! This comprehensive assessment package has everything you need to assess your recorder students in both their playing and fingering knowledge.

Included in this assessment package:

7 two-note quickie quizzes (1/2 page)

*Each page has two notes. Students simply color in the holes to show the fingering for each note.

4 three-note quickie quizzes (1/2 page)

*Each page has three notes. Students color in the holes to show the fingering for each note.

2 six-note quizzes (full page)

*These full-page assessments feature 6 notes. Students are to color in the holes to show the fingering for each note.

2 teacher-created quiz sheets (1/2 page & full page)

*Assign two notes to the class, then

students are to write the given notes on the small treble

clef staff and fill in the holes to indicate

the fingering.

2 rubrics for performance assessments

*Each rubric is different. There is a simple version which assesses the fingering and rhythm for the performance. The more holistic version assesses the sound quality, fingering, tonguing, and pitch clarity of the performance.

I suggest sharing the rubric with students before assessing their abilities. This allows them to successfully prepare for the playing quiz.

2 student feedback forms (in 2 different designs)

*These are quick and easy check off sheets. Simply check off the success (what they’ve done very well) and a practice goal for the future (something they need to work on). You can send these home with students to give them some simple written feedback on their performance. No need to write out lengthy explanations!

Small Certificate (1/4 page)

*These small certificates leave room to put the students name and write the notes he/she has mastered. There are four to a page.
