Description
This was an AMAZINGLY fun & uplifting activity that I did in our preschool (ages 2-5)
First, I collected items around the school that our children would easily recognize as "FUN". I described what each item represented (laughter, hugs, listening ears, etc.) as ingredients of friendship. I let the children add the ingredients then stir them in the bowl. After all the ingredients were in & mixed up I placed in the refrigerator to "firm up" aka time to replace with the pre-made sugar cookie dough!
While the dough was in the kitchen I worked on the recipe cards with the kids. I asked them what they thought they would include in their friendship cookie recipe - they're responses were hilarious. Once finished I cut out their pieces & glued onto bag & extra paper.
The children were AMAZED when the cookie dough came back as edible dough vs. the random art supplies earlier - they 100% thought their magical friendship turned the dough! We decorated the cookies together & had a great time! The cookies were baked when the kids went out to play & then put into their paper bags to take home. :)
