Description
This resource is designed to show your students REAL photographs of musical instruments and categorizes them into families. Each family has a poster explaining how sound in produced with images to help with your students' understanding. Each individual instrument is provided on its own poster, with the borders color coded to match the appropriate instrument family poster. All of the posters have been provided in two sizes. The Instrument Family Posters have been provided in 11 x 17 inch and 8.5 x 11 inch sizes. The individual Instrument Posters have been provided in 8.5 x 11 and 5 x 6.5 inch sizes.

String Family: Violin, Viola, Cello, Bass, Harp, Ukulele, Acoustic Guitar, Electric Guitar, Sitar, and Zither
Brass Family: Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Baritone, Euphonium, Tuba, Sousaphone, and Bugle
Percussion Family: Snare Drum, Bass Drum, Timpani, Orff Xylophone, Crash Cymbals, Gong, Tambourine, Maracas, Triangle, Congas, Bongos, and Drum Set

Note:
Due to the difficulty in seeing the differences between the clarinet and oboe, I have included a zoomed in look at the clarinet mouthpiece/reed and the oboe reed on their posters. I also included a close of up the bassoon reed. These are the only images with a close up portion added.
Files Included:
I have created .pdf files of each group of posters to make it easier to print if you want to print all of them at once. If you would rather pick and choose specific files to print, or at different sizes, I have also provided the .jpg files for each poster separately.
Printing Tip:
If you choose to use the smallest posters (Instrument Posters 2UP File), please print at 100% (do not shrink to fit). Once printed, you should be able to cut off the bottom of the sheet at the 7-inch mark, then cut the rest of the page right in half for a final size of 5 x 6.5 inches with equal margins on all sides.
