Through fun and engaging activities like an Author’s Purpose Spinner, Author’s Purpose Mini-Passage Hunt, and Author’s Purpose Sorting Race, students will be actively involved in their learning. They’ll also discover how to figure out the author’s purpose through direct instruction and by reading six reading comprehension passages. In this mini-unit, students will also write to inform, persuade, and entertain. It’s filled with hands-on learning and ample opportunities to practice the critical reading skill of identifying author’s purpose.
