Rubric #1: designed to be used at the beginning of the school year when students are getting familiar with expectations for notebook organization. The focus of this rubric is on the layout of each notebook page, the neatness of each notebook entry, and on building student note taking stamina. Editable and ready-to-print versions included.
Rubric #2: designed to be used after your students begin to consistently incorporate all elements of Rubric #1 in their daily entries. The focus of the second rubric is on the quality and detail of daily notes. Readiness for this rubric could take several weeks, or several months depending on the unique makeup of your class each year. Editable and ready-to-print versions included.
Reflection Prompts: designed to help students use the rubrics to score their own work, and write a reflection letter on a weekly basis. Alongside each prompt, a sample letter is provided to scaffold students as they become more independent with reflecting on work. Editable and ready-to-print versions included.
Implementation Suggestion Guide: designed to walk you through how to successfully incorporate the rubrics and weekly reflections into your own classroom routines so you can maximize student growth.
