Description

Are you looking for a fun way to review fiction genres? Do your students need practice writing narratives with a beginning, middle, and end? This Fiction Genres Roll a Story Writing Center is just what you need! Dice rolling fun makes writing more engaging for students.

This product includes:

  • Teaching Tips
  • Lesson Plan
  • Learning Center sign
  • 6 Roll-a-Story charts, one page each for mystery, fantasy, science fiction, horror, realistic, and historic
  • Story organizer chart
  • 2 lined writing pages
  • 1 extension activity for fast finishers

Your students can work individually or in teams to roll the dice and circle the story elements chosen by the dice. They can also work on their own or collaborate to organize and write a narrative story with those story elements. They can read their stories aloud. Fast finishers can complete a chart comparing their story to a fiction book from the library in the same genre.

Rolling the dice adds extra fun to this writing and genre review activity. Your students will want to repeat it again and again! You can introduce it with a lesson (included with this product), then repeat it as a learning center, with the instructions sign that is also included.

This is a printable PDF file. You will not be able to edit the file that you purchase and download.
