What educators are saying

This resource was perfect to help my readers work on finding evidence in their reading. It really strengthened the comprehension skills of those students who were struggling with giving reasons.
Not only does this resource contain a wide variety of topics, but the addition of Boom Cards is amazing!!

Ready to get your students excited about reading? These reading comprehension and text evidence passages will do just that. This bundle includes over 200 engaging fiction and non-fiction passages. These passages will help your students in using and citing evidence from the text to support their answers. Strengthen reading all through the year with this reading comprehension bundle.

Students identify both explicit and implicit information from the text to help them answer the questions. This resource was created for my first grade class; however, I have seen teachers using it in 2nd grade and 3rd grade with their students. I originally started to use these readers when I noticed students had trouble identifying key information in the passages to support their thinking. While many of the answers to the questions in these reading comprehension passages are explicitly stated, other questions allow students to make inferences based on implicit information from the text. The passages are infused with first grade vocabulary focus words as well as inferential and explicit textual evidence questions. Students color code the answers in the text. The passages are short so students can focus on textual evidence and comprehension.

This year long bundle will give students adequate practice in citing evidence. Each book also includes a monthly themed cover page.

Take a look below at some of the topics students will read about. Reading Comprehension passages with text evidence are perfect for guided reading, homework, small group, enrichment.
