Reading Comprehension Task Cards READ and RETELL Bundle for Special Education

Reading comprehension task cards created for Special Education, reading intervention, literacy center, and independent work task baskets! Each activity includes a story board with illustration or real life pictures to aid in comprehension. These activities are included in our "Task Box Filler" selection.

Task cards can be used IN ANY ORDER and do NOT have to be in numerical or story sequencing order. Your students will learn to look for each correct response within each story. There are a choice of three possible response choices to encourage your students to read each response without "guessing" or rushing through the task. The stories and pictures will keep your students engaged and on task.

Here are a couple of the suggested IEP Goals:

1. Given a story to read and up to ___(# of) (up to 20) written questions with visual vocabulary support, STUDENT (child’s name) will identify details and events which have occurred in the story, with 80% accuracy, in 4 out of 5 opportunities, by MONTH, YEAR.

2. Given a story read aloud by an adult and up to 20 questions, STUDENT (child’s name) will identify details or events which have occurred in the story by providing a verbal or marked response, with 80% accuracy, in 4 out of 5 opportunities, by MONTH, YEAR.
