These short stories with "WH" questions have characters that are diverse and inclusive to help your students connect further with the text.

These reading comprehension passages with multiple choice questions are yours as an easy print and go, as well as a digital resource with self-checking activities and assessment. So you get 3 levels of differentiation in how you want to present the reading activities to your mixed-level students.

Great For:

  • K-2 grade elementary

The worksheets come in two versions: The first version is a full reading passage that covers such questions as, who, what, where and when. These are designed for a more fluent reader working on his/her comprehension skills. There are 5 multiple choice questions which makes this worksheet wonderful for data collection. Modifying teaching materials for data collection especially in reading is very challenging, with this worksheet you can work with 4/5 trials/opportunities to calculate your 80% accuracy for your data sheet when tracking these "WH" questions.

The second version answers questions who and what. These align to Essential Elements and are the bridge to the broader questions from the Common Core Standard. You also have 5 multiple choice questions that asks, "who and what" questions that allow for easy data collection and targets the reading skill that is measured by the questions. This reader is shorter in scope with picture cues to aid in comprehension and has been strictly modified to answer only those two questions.

You also have these worksheets in two digital formats on Easel:

  • Self-checking and self-correcting activity for multiple practice and remote learning. Reading passages and all five questions on one page.
  • Self-Assessment- Reading passage with one question at a time.
