Reading Comprehension Passages - 2-D Shapes

These reading comprehension passages are a great way to integrate reading with math! The focus of these 14 passages is 2-D shapes. There are 7 shapes included: triangle, circle, square, rectangle, pentagon, hexagon, and octagon.

I have included 2 different passages for each shape - easy differentiation!

One passage does not use the shape name. Students need to read the passage, visualize what the passage is saying, and figure out the shape.

The second passage uses the shape name and includes a picture of the shape. This is great for students who need more help with shapes.

Each passage includes 4 comprehension questions. 3 questions are directly from the text. The 4th question is an written (or drawn) response, requiring students to make a real world connection.
