What educators are saying

This project is great to watch because you can see the students really take charge of unpacking the book they're reading
I didn't think biographies would be as good a unit as it actually was, no small thanks to this unit. Thanks!

Description

Biography Reading Circles are group activities/assignments that put your students in charge. Stop telling your students what's happening in the books your read, and have them start telling each other! This works for a whole class book, or for each group to be able to select their own - Great for differentiation!

Your class is split into groups (between 4-6 members works best), and are given a biography to discuss. The text is then split into sections (by chapter or page #), and each section is given a meeting for discussion. Each student comes to class ready to perform individual roles that will help the group discuss and dissect that part of the book.

Designed for diverse learning environments - students can complete it in a teacher-led class or can do this independently by reading/learning at home and connecting in digital reading circle meetings.

This Package Includes:

- An Overview and explanation of Reading Circles
