Kid Reporters visit homes, festivals and parades to explore the Chinese New Year Holiday. Then actors perform The Curse of the Nian, which takes place in Ancient China. A horrible Nian comes every year to destroy a village until a mysterious old man comes to the village to help save it. Working with a brave Villager they scare the Nian away and create the Chinese New Year.
There is even a vocabulary section at the end. Happy Reading and Gung Hay Fat Choy!
