What educators are saying

My students loved using this resource, and it was the perfect thing to go with my lesson. Thank you!
Used with my homeschool co-op readers theater class! We loved these! The kids requested that we do several of the plays again and again!

    Description

Readers theater motivates and engages readers. Used for fluency instruction, it is a proven research-based (best practices) reading strategy that provides a context for authentic reading and re-reading.

This bundle of fable-themed readers' theater scripts do not have the moral stated, so students can discuss and figure out the message for themselves. (CCSS 2.2 and CCSS 3.2)

It’s great for centers or small groups. Enough scripts in the bundle for everyone to participate at the same time! Extend the lesson by asking students to summarize or recount the story aloud. Great for your sub packets!

Use this packet (nearly 50 pages!) to engage your students in reading with readers’ theatre. Aesop’s fables are still loved even though they date back to Ancient Greece more than two thousand years ago! The fables are great for character education too. These fables have been rewritten to appeal to today's kids, making them even more accessible and engaging than the originals.

This bundle of 7 readers’ theater scripts of Aesop’s fables includes:

The Hare and the Tortoise (7 speaking parts) – Flesch-Kincaid 1.1

The Fox and the Grapes (6 speaking parts) – Flesch-Kincaid 2.2

The Fox and the Crow (4 speaking parts) – Flesch-Kincaid 2.5

The North Wind and the Sun (4 speaking parts) – Flesch-Kincaid 2.9

The Ant and the Grasshopper (6 speaking parts) – Flesch-Kincaid 3.1

The Peacock and the Crane (7 speaking parts) – Flesch-Kincaid 3.2

The Ant and the Chrysalis (4 speaking parts) – Flesch-Kincaid 4.2

**These scripts do not have the moral stated, so students can discuss and figure out the message for themselves.
