Readers' Theater Script Visit Ancient Greece

Let your students travel back in time to ancient Greece. This readers' theater script with 5 speaking parts is a great follow-up to the Magic Tree House Hour of the Olympics by Mary Pope Osborne. Written at 500 Lexile level 4.6 Flesch-Kincaid for grades 2-5. The script is enhanced with maps and pictures to aid understanding.

Use this readers' theater script to actively engage students in reading, to give them an authentic reason for rereading to build fluency, to extend learning from a unit study, as fun time fillers, or as substitute plans!

Students become excited about reading in readers’ theater! Help your students develop fluency by allowing multiple readings of the script. Encourage them to use expressiveness, intonation, and inflection when rehearsing the text.

For added fun, allow students to choose their own names (instead of Part 1, 2, 3, etc.) and make construction paper headbands showing their Greek names and decorate them with Greek symbols.
