This Readers’ Theater is a great resource to use in your classroom to integrate reading and health. You can use it in many ways: small group activity, centers, or teacher table.

Readers’ Theater is one of the best tools to have students gain fluency, accuracy, and comprehension in reading. It also reinforces listening skills and teamwork.

This script could be used at home, or during health class to reinforce the knowledge that exercise and outdoor activities are very beneficial for our bodies. Also, the fact that during the summer there are lots of different ways in which you could exercise.

I’m including comprehension questions to check on understanding, and I’m providing answering sheets with sentence stems, to help students answer questions in complete sentences. These comprehension questions could be used as an informal assessment.

I’m including a highlighted version with the 4 characters in 4 different colors, or a black and white version in case you need to save in color ink, and in this case, have each student highlight their own parts before they start the reading.

I’m a bilingual teacher so all my plays will be written in English and Spanish, but you can buy them separately in my store.
