Description

Learn how to turn your Halloween Story into a Graphic Novella and includes

a Discussion Guide for THE INVENTION of HUGO CABERET, a graphic novel by Brian Selzick, winner of the Caldecott Award. Grades 5-12. "Highly engaging!"

Graphic novels have become a popular genre. In this resource, students will learn how to turn their Scary Halloween Stories into a 10-page (or less) graphic novella by using the graph paper and dialogue balloons (provided). This should be considered a “unit” of study and not a brief one- or two-day lesson and be purchased as a bundle. *See Below. Includes an Easel Assessment.

Art and Literature Based. Suggested for grades 5 on up.

Bundle with:

“How to Write a Scary Halloween Story”, Grades 5-12

https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/How-to-Write-a-Scary-Halloween-Story-for-grades-9-6013431

Also includes:

An example of a story that has been turned into a 10-page graphic novella, “The Upcycled Village”. This will be used as a guide for the students as they develop their (Scary Halloween) stories into graphic novellas.

After students have studied the graphic novella version of “The Upcycled Village” and written their scary Halloween stories, assemble the supplies so students can prepare their own graphic novellas. Students will enjoy sharing their novellas with others. Includes an Easel Assessment.
