Ratios and Proportions Measuring Activity

This is a group activity for students to practice ratios and proportions as well as measurement skills. They will take turns measuring each group member's height, shoe length, and shadow length. They will graph height vs. shoe length and height vs. shadow length to determine which relationship is proportional.

You will need to have measuring tapes or other measuring devices available to each student group, as well as access to a sunny outdoor location.

Although data will vary greatly, an example answer key is provided.
