What educators are saying

I love to use Boom cards after we complete our notes. The kids grab white boards and hold them up when they find the answer. Great activity for this!
My students love being able to work with varied activities each week! This resource provided much needed additional practice! And my students loved it and were highly engaged. It is always so neat to see how much 7th graders still like puzzles.:)

Description

How about being able to extend their knowledge and apply the skills? If so, then this resource is just right for you. It includes 42 BOOM cards on ratios and equivalent ratios.

Students are asked to

  • solve word problems
  • extend their problem by applying the ratio to a real word situation
  • complete ratio tables
  • find the values of A and B using ratios

BOOM Learning cards are a fun and exciting way to practice a whole array of skills. They are self-checking and also have the option to provide reports to the teacher, so you can see how your students are performing. Students get immediate feedback, and teachers get feedback as well. They work on tablets, computers, Smartboards, Kindles, and more.

Understand the concept of a ratio and use ratio language to describe a ratio relationship between two quantities. For example, “The ratio of wings to beaks in the bird house at the zoo was 2:1, because for every 2 wings there was 1 beak.” “For every vote candidate A received, candidate C received nearly three votes.”
Use ratio and rate reasoning to solve real-world and mathematical problems, e.g., by reasoning about tables of equivalent ratios, tape diagrams, double number line diagrams, or equations.
Recognize and represent proportional relationships between quantities.
Identify the constant of proportionality (unit rate) in tables, graphs, equations, diagrams, and verbal descriptions of proportional relationships.
