Description
This is a great end of unit project for rates, ratios and proportions. The student facing introduction is as follows;
"You have found your favorite recipe for a dessert or appetizer and want to bring it to a class party. The problem is your recipe doesn’t serve enough people. Use proportions to increase the recipe to serve all the people needed. Make 1 serving per person. We have 15 people we need to serve."
There are multiple parts to this project, including creating a brochure for their new converted recipes. I have found that any artistic outlet is a great way to make a challenging skill more accessible and exciting!
Students are encouraged to think about a recipe that means something to do, opening the door to conversations about cuisines from different cultures and homes. This has been posted via Google Drive for editing purposes the best fit the needs of your classroom!
