This computer animated film from Pixar and Disney is about a rat named Remy who is passionate about cooking. Through a series of unfortunate events, Remy finds himself lost and alone at the famous Gusteau’s restaurant in Paris France. He quickly and secretly befriends an inexperienced and shy young worker named Linguini. With the help of Linguini’s human body and Remy’s cooking skills, they work together to become a world class chef. Others become skeptical of Linguini’s new found success and look to uncover his secret.

This particular movie guide is great for your students because it not only gives them questions to answer while watching the movie, but it also includes extra activities to have them practice their critical thinking skills and self-reflect on various aspects of the movie that can relate to their own lives. Your students will critically analyze topics about food, being a great artist, secrets, and others. This film and movie guide also do a great job at having the student/viewer reflect on various common dishes to see how they can improve them and make them better.

• 5 Reflection Questions & 5 Superlative Questions – These reflection & superlative questions are to be answered individually after having watched the movie. They can be answered in about 2-3 sentences but are designed to have students relate various parts or aspects from the movie to their own lives.
• Character Analysis – This activity is to have students analyze various characters in the movie to recount what they liked about them, what their biggest strength was, weakness, etc.
• Art Activity - This activity is to have students try and express some aspect of the movie through the use of art. Students are asked to draw or create something using their imagination and/or the information they obtained by watching the movie.
• Group Activity – This activity is to be completed in a small group and is designed to have students work together as a team in order to complete the instructions or objectives for the activity. Once finished, the groups can share their work with the rest of the class if the teacher wants them to.

All the questions are available in a PDF format for quick and easy printing as well as in a Word format in case you would like to modify some of the questions to the specific needs of your class.
