    There is no need to plan for a half year for Year.5/6s because that's how long this project will take to do.


    ABOUT THIS PROJECT

    Students will compose a rap song in a group of 3.

    We will begin this project by analysing a several rap songs to identify basic meters, beats, and structures of rap music. They then create lyrics according to a topic of their choice by applying rhyming words with an emphasis of team work.. They will also invent the rap beat to sing along using instruments or digital technology. Finally the music video will be made by recordings and filming to present to the class.

    Step 1. 

    Identify basic metres, beats, and structures of rap music.

    Step 2.

    Brainstorm the story line (Lyrics) using a concept map

    Step 3. 

    Analyse the features of a chorus and create your own

    Step 4. 

    Write a verse using rhyming words and patterns.

    Step 5.

    Invent a rap beat using instruments or digital technology and record your vocals.

    Step 6. Filming and Photo Shoots (Tips on effective and creative photoshoots)

    Step 7.

     Edit the Music Video

    Step 8.

    Evaluate and Submit your work.
