What educators are saying

This is a great resource to use in small group binders! I love using them with my kiddos because they get excited to see their progress!
What a great piece of data that my students understand and become a part of documenting and goal setting for their interests.

Description

With this download you will have letter ID, sound identification, concepts of print, and known words assessments in a teacher friendly, parent friendly, data friendly, and STUDENT FRIENDLY form! Assessments are aligned to the Common Core.

*PLEAE NOTE: There are different versions of each assessment within this file. The first letter ID page has 28 letters (including “fancy a” and “typewriter g”). The second has the traditional 26 sounds. The first concept of print page has 22 items. The second has a condensed version of 18 items.

LETTER AND SOUND FORM:
I use different color crayons for different times of the year and have students fully involved in their progress. I use a color coding system and mark what letters/sounds students know at different times of the year (September – yellow, January – green, June – blue, etc.). The color coding is optional but it is a wonderful way for students to get involved in their progress.

CONCEPTS OF PRINT:
Have a book handy to accompany this assessment.

KNOWN WORDS:
This assessment is a favorite for students in my class. We sit in the hallway or outside with clipboards and students have about 10 minutes to write down all the words they can spell. Giving student prompts is helpful (family members, pets, friends, word wall words, etc.). Students and parents love to see the growth throughout the year. A second blank known word page is included because it is likely your students will be able to fill up two sides as the year goes on.

I hope you enjoy these handy forms for assessments as much as I do. If you have any questions, feel free to send me a message or email me at SingSmileandLearn.com. If you find this product useful, please kindly leave me some feedback. Thank you.

READING PROGRESS GRAPH
Students can track their reading progress throughout the year and parents can see the correlation with reading levels and grade level expectations.

SIGHT WORD ASSESSMENTS are included for Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade words.

LABELS AND COVERS are included so you can easily put this into a binder or folder to track progress throughout the year and send it back and forth between home and school.

A LETTER TO PARENTS and LETTER TO TEACHERS are included for clear vision of how to utilize this pack.
