This flip chart is designed to accompany the skill bag for Level 1- Unit 4 (Discover Jamestown) of RIGOR (Reading Instructional Goals for Older Readers). It will take you and your students step by step through each of the 5 days of instruction and contains activities for phonemic awareness, blending sounds, spelling, tier 1 and tier 2 vocabulary, reading strategies, reading comprehension, shared and interactive writing. This flip chart was designed for English language learners and therefore has many scaffolds embedded that can be used or taken out.
